Course Themes are pre-designed courses set to "Theme." You decide which pages are included with the Theme purchase. Recommended pages: Overview, Lesson, Sublesson, Payment Page, Login Pages, and a Landing Page (new builder coming soon).
However, each Course Theme must include, at a minimum:
An Overview Page (this is mandatory with all Teachery Courses)
At least one Lesson Page for your customer to customize and use when they create a Course from the Theme.
A Payment Page for your customer to customize and use when they create a Course from the Theme.
A separate Payment Page used exclusively for purchasing the Course Theme itself.
All Course Themes must be built for Teachery’s minimal template.
Types of Course Themes supported:
Standard Courses
Memberships
Client Portals
Digital Downloads (Notion Template, PDF, Journals, etc)
Archives (Newsletter, Blog, etc)
FAQ Course (Support Center)
And any other use cases!

Coming Soon)Stay tuned for details and best practices specific to Landing Page template listings.
All Marketplace listings must be verified and approved by Teachery before they appear. Here's how it works:
After submitting your listing, Teachery will review it within 3-5 business days and reply back if you are approved (to your Teachery account email address).
If you have not received an email reply after 5 days, your listing was not approved. You can resubmit after 14 days with updates or changes.
You can absolutely offer free Course Themes or Landing Page listings in the Marketplace.
If a customer signs up for your free listings, their customer information will appear in your Customers page. You can contact these customers or add them to your email marketing provider.
Customers will purchase your listing through a Payment Page within your Course Theme.
Teachery will earn a 25% commission for each paid sale (more on this below).
The remaining 75% of the sale will be deposited into your connected Stripe account immediately after the sale is made (no waiting period!)
Customer information will still appear in your Customers page and can be used for email marketing purposes.
Read our Marketplace Best Practices help doc here.
Custom code and custom CSS are allowed in the Course Themes and Landing Pages. Please note the following:
Make it clear to the customer: The customer should know custom code has been used and if they need to do anything with the code (or not).
If you use custom CSS (Style Editor > Add Custom CSS page)
Make it clear to the customer: The customer should know custom CSS has been used and how they can edit or tweak the CSS.
Include CSS notes in a DRAFT Lesson: We recommend creating a draft lesson as the first lesson in your course. Use this to provide walkthroughs, image templates, CSS editing notes, or anything else customers need to get the most out of your Theme.
We cannot be held responsible for assisting your customers with custom code or CSS you’ve added to your Course Themes (or Landing Pages). Please make it clear and obvious that customers can contact you for assistance.
Payments for Marketplace Listings are made via Teachery Checkout Pages we create on your behalf using Stripe Checkout. There is no possibility to create marketplace purchases outside of Teachery.
Teachery takes a 25% commission on paid listings. For example:
A $50 Course Theme = $12.50 commission to Teachery, $37.50 (minus Stripe fees) to you (~$35 in your pocket!)
Revenue appears immediately in your Customers page and your Stripe account.
Customers can request refunds within 14 days of purchase. Refunds are processed by Teachery through your connected Stripe account, and you’ll receive an email notification that a refund was processed.
In rare cases that a customer files a chargeback, please contact Teachery support before submitting evidence through Stripe. We’ll help you handle the case.
Whether your listing is free or paid, customer information will appear in your Customers page. You can use this data for email marketing purposes, such as adding customers to your email provider.
Recommendation: You can setup an automation with Zapier, Pabbly, or Make to automate customer information being passed from the Stripe Checkout page into your email marketing platform. We recommend creating a Filter step in your automation based on the specific price of the Template.
.You can use a Payment Page inside your Theme for sales outside the Marketplace, as the Marketplace requires a dedicated separate Stripe Checkout Page. You can even duplicate your Theme entirely if you’d like to use a version that is not in the Marketplace.
Teachery does not
take commissions on sales made outside of the Marketplace.
.You can remove your Template listing in the Teachery Marketplace whenever you like, but PLEASE contact us before doing so. We do not want potential customers to have a bad experience by trying to purchase via the Marketplace but your Theme has been deleted in your Teachery account.
IF customers have purchased your Theme, they will need to be given 90 days notice that the purchased Theme is going to be unsupported moving forward. Please give us proof that you have alerted your customers of this.
IF you choose to cancel your Teachery account subscription, we will remove your Template from the Marketplace immediately. We would appreciate you contacting us in advance of this
.
We’re excited to see your designs in the Teachery Template Marketplace! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out through our support chat. Happy creating!
