Integration with Make

An alternative to Zapier or Pabbly, Make allows you to create automations and connect other applications and services to Teachery!

Make is an automation platform that is free to get started and gives you a ton of opportunities to connect your Teachery data with other applications. Much like Zapier or Pabbly, Make can help pull data from Teachery and send it elsewhere OR push data from other sources and into your Teachery account.

πŸ’‘ If you're an existing Zapier user looking for a similar but more affordable automation solution, we would recommend Pabbly over Make as Pabbly's interface will be much more familiar to you.

In the example below, we're going to take customer data from a New Order (aka Course Purchase in Teachery) and send that data to MailerLite.

Step 1: Create a new Scenario and find Teachery

Once you create your Make account you'll be led into the Scenario builder. You can think of a Scenario as an automation. You can always change the order of applications in a Scenario or quickly remove/re-add an application.

Use the application search πŸ” to find Teachery.

Choose a TRIGGER or ACTION and Create a webhook

Once you choose a Teachery Trigger OR Action, you'll need to Create a webhook (you only have to do this the FIRST time you connect your Teachery account). You can name your Webhook or just leave it the generic name.

TRIGGER: Think of this as pulling data from Teachery. Most often Teachery will be the first step in a Scenario as the data will be coming FROM Teachery and going into another app you connect it to.

ACTION: Think of this as pushing data into your Teachery account from another application. Teachery will always be second or later in the Scenario as the data is coming from another app into Teachery.

Add your Teachery API Key in the Connection name pop up

Then, in the Connection name pop up you can change the name of the Connection if you have multiple Teachery accounts OR if you only have 1 Teachery account just leave it generic as well. This is where you'll paste in your Teachery API Key from your Accounts > Integrations page in Teachery.

βœ… Success! Once you've added your API Key the first time you won't need to ever do it again.

Step 2: Connect "Add another module" (aka connect another application)

In this simple Scenario example the following is happening:

Teachery > TRIGGER > Watch Orders - This tells Make to watch for any new purchase through any Payment Page in your Teachery account (of any course). Then, send that data into MailerLite > SUBSCRIBERS > Create / Update a Subscriber.

And if you want to ONLY have certain course customers move through this Scenario, you would click the Filter icon in-between the two applications to add a Filter. It would look like this if you only wanted the Scenario to continue if the Course Name in your Teachery account included the word "Awesome" in the Course Name field.

Step 3: Verify the Scenario, Run it once, and then turn it ON

If you try to click the "Run once" button to test your Scenario (automation), it will run or it will tell you that a step was missed.

Once you've run the Scenario and are happy with it, you can toggle it ON with the "Scheduling" toggle and you're Scenario is good to go! πŸ‘ πŸ‘

The automation possibilities are pretty endless!

Remember, Teachery can be the first module in a Scenario (taking customer data FROM Teachery and sending it to another application -- like the example shown above) or Teachery can be the second (or later) module (taking customer data and PUSHING it into your Teachery account).

If you're taking payment outside of Teachery using PayPal, Thrivecart, etc, then those applications would be first in the Scenario and Teachery would be second.

Enjoy the automation fun!
