Setting up your Welcome Email and Course Completed Email

πŸ‘‰ IMPORTANT NOTE: If your Teachery account email uses a @yahoo.com OR @gmail.com email address you may encounter issues with your students receiving your course's Welcome or Completed emails. We recommend not using Yahoo or Gmail email addresses in your Welcome Email and Course Completed Email "From Email" setting (this can be separate from your Teachery account email). Ideally, you'll have an email address for your own domain you can use (example: [email protected]).

With that note out of the way, we have two customizable emails that we'll send on your course's behalf!

πŸ“§ Course Welcome Emails

By default, we send your course student a Welcome Email that you can customize. This email also includes a Login link as well as a receipt of their payment information.Β 

⭐️ You can add your logo, change the email background color, and customize the content of this email as much as you like!

🚨 We do NOT recommend changing the default login link URL. If you change the login link by accident and need to reset it to the default Teachery setting, highlight your text, click the link icon, and input %login_url% in the URL text area. Then hit Update.

If you don't know where to find your course's Welcome Email:

  • From the Courses page, click the course you want to edit >>

  • In the left sidebar, look for the Course Emails section >>

  • Click the Welcome Email link and start editing πŸ‘

Have a student who forgot how to get into your course? Head to your Customers page, search for your student's name or email address, click their name to jump into their Customer Profile. Look for the appropriate course card and click the "Actions" button in the top right. You'll find a "Resend Welcome Email" button. That will resend the welcome email and get your student back in action!

NOTE: If your students are reporting that your Welcome Email isn't hitting their inbox after joining your course, reach out through our support chat bubble and include the student's email address in question and we'll check our email delivery provider.

πŸ‘‹ Are you using Upsells with your courses? Your Welcome Email will include the Upsell purchase labeled simply as {+ Add-On} in the email

We have to keep the verbiage generic as {+ Add-On} but we did want to include something to your customers in their Welcome Email if an Upsell was added to a purchase.

If you have Stripe receipts turned ON in your Stripe account, your customers will receive a specific separate email with that as well.

βœ… Course Completed Emails

Inside your course, there are β€œCompleted” buttons at the bottom of each course lesson (these are on by default). If your student goes through ALL your course lessons, hitting the completed button on ALL lessons, there is a Course Completed email that automatically gets sent to your student.

You can also add your logo, change the email background color, and customize the content of this email like the Welcome Email.

The Course Completed Email is in the same area as the Welcome Email:

  • From the Courses page, click the course you want to edit >>

  • In the left sidebar, look for the Course Emails section >>

  • Click the Course Completed Email link and start editing πŸ‘

πŸ€” Don't want to use our emails?

You can turn these emails off and send your own emails, but we recommend leaving the Welcome Email on, as it has the important course login and password data.
